This is a fully resourced session comprising of a combined 32 slide PowerPoint which could be used during an Assembly / lesson / form time or even a whole year group work shop to fully prepare all ability students KS3 -KS5 for assessments or exams. Activities include a museum walk of propaganda posters, a diamond 9 ranking task of DORA's laws, discussion points from videos (SMSC / modern day link opportunities). Pupils finally consolidate though answering a structured 8 mark exam style question. If time I then ask my pupils to peer assess with WW / EBI. This Assembly is designed to enable students to reflect upon the priorities in their life. Song, 'Time of your Life', plays as students enter (embedded). As students wait for everyone to enter they can silently reflect upon how the images displayed are connected. All will be referred to in the assembly. Begin with asking a pupil to define the word 'priority' before demonstrating the 'Jar of Life'. Required: 1. Large stones / golf balls 2. 2 empty jars / glass bowls 3. Pebbles 4. Sand / Pilau rice 5. Coffee / Water The Jar = Your life The Large Stones = the important things e.g. Family, Friends, Health, Love. Education. The pebbles = Less important things e.g. Car, House, Holidays, Designer Clothes. The Sand = Even less impornat things e.g. X-box, Phone, Facebook, Snap chat, Instagram, TV. Further instructions are attached (see video). Pupils then reflect upon the included embedded video, 'Your Life in Jelly Beans' which shows how much of your life is spent sleeping / eating / commuting etc and how many days left this leaves you with. Question pupils on what their 'big rocks' are and why they need to prioritize a bit more in their lives. Finish with a prayer and hand out reflection sheet for pupils to go away and reflect upon or complete as a Tutor activity later on.

Teacher will talk through statistics are visualised on the board about plastic waste. followed by a video which lots of students will find shocking regarding how much plastic waste there is in the sea and how the is affecting marine life. A slide on local recycling centers you could swap to be localised to your school. Slide on what you could be recycling as a student and where you could go. Finishes with prayer. This pack contains two lessons. Lessons outcomes are: Expected: To study the life of a famous Naval soldier. (SMSC) Challenge: To explain a famous battle at sea, its causes and consequences. Stretch: To use source evidence to support an exam style question. The first lesson consists of a case study regarding Jack Cornwell and his importance to a ‘famous naval battle’. At the age of only 16, he was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross and was the youngest British to take part in the battle). Pupils will study his story from a cut out card sort activity catagorising information about his life. Pupils then reassemble to card sort into a jigsaw to reveal that he died as a result of the Battle of Jutland. Pupils are then encouraged to complete further research about other British men who fought in the battle (computers will be required of this, otherwise I have set it as a Homework). The second lesson allows pupils to study source evidence (primary and secondary) to help reach the lessons outcomes. Pupils then consolidate the past 2 lessons with an exam style question. Then pupils can use the success criteria to peer assess with WW / EBI to identify areas of improvement regarding their extended writing. The presentation itself is aesthetically pleasing and engaging with lots of colour including moving Giff images. All videos are embedded (links also provided). I highly recommend having an ‘interactive’ station for the second lesson as there is a fantastic website (link included) which allows pupils to listen to first hand accounts of the battle from survivors. The lessons finish with how the Battle is remembered today 100 years on.

An introduction lesson to 'Pirates'. This is a lesson with a series of chunked tasks to introduce piracy to pupils or this could be used as a fun one off lesson. You do not need exercise books for this lesson. All videos have link provided or are embedded.

This lesson should lead on from recently studying the Battles of WWI or Field Marshal Haig. Starter: Discuss the picture showing all the the Generals and their statistics from The Great War, how many of them lived / died & how/ awarded medals etc. I have then allowed my pupils to watch Blackadder series 4 final episode 'Goodbye'. Pupils are to be critical of this and afterwards discuss if this was a true representation of war conditions / Generals. I have provided a YouTube link to the episode (In case it is taken down or it does not work, you may wish to purchase the DVD). I then use a judgment line to assess progress and gain pupil's opinions in relation to how far we can trust this episode to be reliable and then in relation to the learning intention question. Pupils finally consolidate though answering a structured 8 mark exam style question. If time I then ask my pupils to peer assess with WW / EBI. This lesson would work best having used sources in previous lesson to study WWI Generals / Marshals, I have used Haig in previous lessons. Pupils are encouraged to use this evidence to help construct their answers.

This Assembly is designed to enthuse students (of any year group) to take part in a 'Leadership Challenge' which can be completed over the course of a half term. Student booklet is included which once completed can be collected in by their teacher / form tutor / head of year and certificates awarded. Success Criteria: - Become a ‘lead’ learner in lesson. - Peer support. - Lead a group discussion. - Help your form run an assembly. - Help design / run a starter or plenary. - Support an after school / charity event. Assembly begins with a 'hook' clip from Peter Pan's 'Following the Leader' song (embedded). Ask students to reflect upon any leaders they can think of (a good opportunity to reflect not only on world leaders but leadership within school e.g. School Council / Head Boy / Girl). Ask students what qualities you must possess to aspire to a leadership role. A video clip is then shown (embedded) and students are encouraged to identify any leadership skills which have just been identified (either by students or from what was displayed on the Presentation). Students are then introduced to the 'Leadership Challenge', success criteria cards can already be placed upon student chairs upon entering, these can now be addressed. Finishes with a prayer about leadership and encouragement to begin the challenge!

Hook video (embedded) about road safety to engage students when waiting for others to arrive. This Assembly focuses upon educating students of how to stay safe when walking / traveling too / from school. after the hook video the assembly begins with a vote upon the most popular methods of traveling to school and which students travel by each one. Followed by statistics of injuries and accidents recently linked to silly and dangerous behaviour traveling too and from school. Students are asked to reflect upon what could distract them on the way to school and are then reminded about the law linked with riding a bike. Followed by a safety video to consolidate (embedded). Assembly finishes with a prayer.

The purpose of this assembly is to encourage students to reflect upon the potential of growth mind-sets. Especially good to run before an assessment point or during revision periods. All videos and songs are embedded. Assembly starts with questioning about what a growth mind set could be before showing a video clip of ‘People Are Awesome’ showing humans completing amazing feats. Teacher to link this back to how they all have growth mind sets. Teacher asks again what a growth mind-set could be. Teacher the shows video of how a growth mind-set can help students achieve (example the tortious and the hare). Students are quized on example of what could be considered a growth mind set or a closed mind-set. Finishes with a prayer. Delete school banner and replace with your own logo.
